As part of its ongoing series of meetings with key officials to enhance Jordan’s tourism sector, Ms. Ghada Al Najjar, Chairman of the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA), and the Association’s board members met with Mr. Nayef Hamideh Al-Fayez, Chairman of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), at the Authority’s headquarters. The meeting was held in the presence of the Vice President and the Commissioner of Economy and Tourism, Eng. Hamza Al-Hajj Hassan, and the Commissioner of Environment, Dr. Ayman Suleiman.

The discussion focused on strengthening cooperation and promoting the development and activation of the tourism and hospitality sector in Aqaba. Mr. Al-Fayez highlighted the importance of joint collaboration and the pivotal role JITOA plays in supporting and advancing tourism, particularly in showcasing Aqaba’s rich environmental, cultural, and heritage diversity to international visitors.

Ms. Ghada Al Najjar and the JITOA board members thanked Mr. Al-Fayez for his continuous support and efforts in boosting the tourism sector, emphasizing the value of ongoing collaboration to further develop Aqaba as a leading tourism destination.

During the meeting, Mr. Al-Fayez also introduced ASEZA’s latest initiative: the new tourism identity for Aqaba, branded under the slogan “Aqaba… Naturally”. He highlighted the incentives, facilities, and services provided to local and international tourism offices and groups, as well as participation in international exhibitions, aimed at marketing and promoting Aqaba as a global tourism destination. These efforts contribute to enhancing tourism activity, attracting new markets, and opening up new opportunities for Jordan and the Aqaba region.
