In order to revive tourism in Jordan, Dr. Emad Hijazeen, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, called for a meeting with key representatives from across the tourism sector to develop a comprehensive plan for the Kingdom’s tourism recovery. The meeting brought together officials from Petra, Aqaba, the Jordan Tourism Board, Royal Jordanian Airlines, hotels, travel agencies, and local tourism stakeholders, as well as representatives from tourism associations and key destinations such as Wadi Rum and Petra.

JITOA was represented by its Chairwoman, Ms. Ghada Al Najjar, who actively contributed to the discussions and shared her vision for the sector, emphasizing the importance of unified strategies, innovative tourism products, and strong public-private collaboration to ensure sustainable growth.

The discussions focused on identifying priority markets and developing a variety of tourism offerings, including religious tourism, adventure experiences, conferences, and programs aimed at attracting diaspora communities. Integrated travel packages combining transport, accommodation, and tourism services with competitive pricing were highlighted as key to attracting international visitors.

Participants also stressed the importance of organizing major events in key destinations, enhancing marketing efforts, and leveraging global communication channels to promote Jordan as a safe and attractive destination. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to implementing practical initiatives that restore momentum to Jordan’s tourism sector, a vital contributor to the national economy.
