Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA), in collaboration with the GIZ, implemented Employment Employment-Oriented MSME Promotion Project conducted a FAM trip to Kerak on July 4th, 2023. During the FAM trip in Kerak, participants had the wonderful opportunity to immerse themselves in the local culture by taking part in home food production activities. They engaged in hands-on experiences such as harvesting ingredients from gardens, learning traditional cooking techniques, and even preparing local dishes.

One of the culinary highlights was trying Mansaf, a traditional Jordanian dish and a pride of Kerak's cuisine. Participants not only got to savor the flavors of this iconic meal but also learned about its significance in Jordanian culture. They discovered the art of cooking Mansaf, which typically features lamb cooked with fermented dried yogurt, served over a bed of fragrant rice and garnished with almonds and pine nuts.

This interactive food experience allowed participants to connect with locals on a personal level, gaining insights into the culinary traditions that have been passed down through generations in Kerak. Such activities contribute to a richer understanding of the region's culture and create lasting memories for those exploring its unique tourism offerings.
