On Sunday, April 1, 2026, Ammon Applied University College for Hospitality and Tourism Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA). This strategic step aims to enhance the integration between the academic and professional sectors, ensuring the inbound tourism industry is supplied with highly specialized talent.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Awni Kawar, Vice Chairman of the Board for JITOA, and Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Kurdi, President of the College. During the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of building effective partnerships that align tourism education outputs directly with labor market needs, particularly in catering to diverse global markets.
The MoU focuses on activating joint cooperation and opening new avenues for practical, field training for students. This aligns with the college's direction to introduce a unique new major, "Tourism Management and Applied Languages." The program is designed to prepare qualified Jordanian professionals equipped with the necessary vocational and linguistic skills to keep pace with industry developments and deliver an exceptional tourism experience to visitors of the Kingdom.
This move comes as part of the ongoing efforts by JITOA and Ammon Applied University College to bridge the gap between academic institutions and inbound tour operators, thereby elevating the standard of services provided and supporting the journey of sustainable tourism development in Jordan.
