JITOA and JHA Conclude Strategic Business Visit to Egypt to Boost Tourism Investments and Bilateral Partnerships

Published : 12-10-2026

The Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA) and the Jordan Hotel Association (JHA) concluded a business visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, which featured joint meetings and collaborative sessions with tourism agencies and major investment groups, including Al-Majeed Investment Group. The visit aimed to explore tourism cooperation and investment opportunities, exchange expertise and practices, and strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors.

JITOA Chairman Nabih Riyal stated that collaborating with Egyptian tourism agencies opens new horizons for developing joint travel packages and boosting regional tourism movement. He emphasized that integration between the tourism sector and governments serves as a fundamental pillar for translating partnerships into tangible economic outcomes.

JHA Board Chairman Hussein Hilalat affirmed that the upcoming phase requires shifting from traditional meetings to actionable investment partnerships. He highlighted the importance of drawing from the Egyptian experience in developing tourism projects, attracting investments, and maximizing the sector's economic returns to enhance the competitiveness of Jordanian tourism.

JHA Vice Chairman Hani Al-Dabbas noted that visiting the Giza Pyramids and reviewing the private sector's role in managing services and tourism activities at heritage sites reflects the importance of shifting from site management to maximizing economic value while safeguarding cultural heritage. He emphasized that the success of public-private partnerships is measured by their ability to stimulate investment, improve service quality, enhance visitor experiences, extend tourists' length of stay, increase spending, and generate job opportunities, stressing the need to adapt successful models to suit the unique character of Jordan's tourism sites.

During the visit, the delegation participated in the signing ceremony of a cooperation protocol between the Al-Raai Masr Foundation for Development, the Commercial International Bank (CIB) Foundation, and the National Alliance for Civil Development Work. Held at the Al-Qubba Presidential Palace in Cairo, the initiative aims to provide medical treatment for one million children across one thousand Egyptian villages. The ceremony included an official dinner and a musical performance by Egyptian artist Tamer Ashour.

The visit concluded with arrangements for an upcoming visit by a delegation of Egyptian investors and tourism sector representatives to Jordan to explore investment opportunities and joint tourism projects, further strengthening economic and tourism cooperation between the two countries.
