On August 16, 2023, the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA), in collaboration with GIZ, organized a familiarization (FAM) trip for its members to explore the innovative tourism experiences developed in Ajloun.

These experiences, designed by the GIZ team in close cooperation with the local community, aim to highlight the richness of Ajloun’s cultural heritage, natural beauty, and authentic way of life. Participants enjoyed a variety of hands-on activities such as traditional cooking sessions, guided nature walks, handicraft workshops, and storytelling experiences that celebrate the region’s history and traditions. Each activity reflects the community’s dedication to preserving their heritage while offering visitors unique, memorable encounters.

Linking these experiences with JITOA members is essential to ensure their promotion to a wider audience. By integrating these authentic activities into inbound tourism programs, members can offer travelers a deeper, more meaningful connection to Jordan, while also supporting local livelihoods and fostering sustainable tourism growth in Ajloun.
